PMAE No. 233

With some help from Betsy, my model, who lives at the local thrift store where I volunteer, here is my answer to this weeks Dogwood Challenge. "Technical: Portrait Lighting-Whether Butterfly, Rembrandt, Split, or Loop Lighting, choose the technique which best flatters your subject."

I feel that Butterfly best suits Betsy. This was the lighting most favored by Hollywood actresses in 1940's and 50's and many had it written into their contracts.
What a very obliging model you have here in Betsy. Love the collage and back-story.

I like the way you have displayed Betsy and the different Portrait Lighting. All very different effects.

@taffy I don't do much, if any, model work but its nice to learn and understand the various techniques.

@ziggy77 Thank you so much.

@thistle Betsy was most helpful in this now she goes home.

@eudora Thank you. She did have an issue with standing up without tipping so she 'chose' to lean against a plant stand.

@megpicatilly Thank you so much. It was interesting to learn more about this area of photography. There is still so much I don't know yet.
