The Mask

Practicing with textures. This mask is similar to the the kind worn by the plague doctors in the 17th through the 19th century. The doctors would stuff aromatics into the beak of the mask. "The purpose of the mask was to keep away bad smells, which were thought to be the principal cause of the disease, before it was disproved by germ theory. Doctors believed the herbs would counter the "evil" smells of the plague and prevent them from becoming infected." The masks were not nearly this fancy though.
Oh my! If the plague didn’t kill the patients, one look at their doctors in this mask would!

Every time you create an image, I think, "WOW...Her BEST yet!" Well, you know how much I love your work, and this is at the top! In every nuanced way, it's simply amazing! I should think you could ask a pretty penny for this image, framed and in a gallery...it's a marvelous work of art!
