A steep climb up to the Inka Sun Temple and fortress at Ollantaytambo gave us wonderful mountain views around the village. The Inka leader who was defeated at Sacsaywamán (see photo 2nd Feb) had his revenge on the Spanish conquistadors by hurling rocks from the top of the fortress on to the attacking soldiers. This was a rare defeat of the Spanish by the Inkas.
