Paratrooper Brig. Gen. Anthony McAuliffe gave this reply to the Germans' demand they surrender in the Battle of the Bulge in December 1944. They held 4 days more before Gen. Patton's tanks pushed the Germans back, ending their last counter-offensive of the war.

I've never seen a capture of nuts quite like this--very cool, John! I read somewhere that the Germans did not understand the slang terminology, but I don't know if that is true.
@cejaanderson@nanm@tristansmum@deu49097 I had 2 poor-quality shots into a 4/5-empty can of cashews: 1 with a flash that was very over-exposed, one without flash that was very underexposed.
Thought about layering the 2, playing with layer opacity. Didn't look great. Merged them through HDR software (Photomatix Essentials), still didn't like any of the realistic results, so went with my surrealistic selection, "Grunge 2".
Played with the hue-saturation some in PS, too.
