I named this shot as I did not just because my son's eyes so much remind me of his mother's, but also because this wonderful photo of The Captain was taken by his mom. Sheri would never label herself as even a marginally good photographer, but I love some of the photos she's taken of JT, and this one is among my favorites in recent memory. She has such a different perspective and style than I do and I'd love to be able to replicate it while I'm shooting because I often feel my shots feel stale: like it's the same photo over and over. I need to break out of that repetition, and I'm thankful to have such a creative wife - a professional graphic designer by trade - to teach me new tricks.
