Few days were as perfect as this one, despite my hand-wringing over the logistics and timing of it all. Diego proved to be his usual flexible and good-natured self while we visited a local pond that offered residents of our town a nice area to swim, kayak and paddle boat. While his older brother practiced his swimming and I tested out the underwater casing my fiancée bought for our phones, Dieguito crashed for his afternoon siesta in the shade of a large tree and with a lovely view of the water. It was a perfect summer adventure for our whole family and the type of day my future wife is an absolute expert at planning. She’s a gem, this lady, and Diego is as lucky to have her as a mom as I am to have her as my love.
