After two years away, my father and stepmom have returned from a move to Texas. The plan to relocate South was made after several years of job dissatisfaction and a few too many hard winters. It was also made before my fiancée and I could announce she was pregnant with Diego. When they found out, they were already locked into the move. Having one grandchild up North while they were South was hard enough. Having two? It proved too much. We visited them once in Texas last year when Diego was about three months old. Still an infant, he took to them fine, but I was a little nervous how this meeting would go. He loves his Grand P, my stepdad and he adores his Abuelo. But would he love Papa Jack? I think it’s evident from this photo that their reintroduction went swimmingly and the love for family in this child is truly inherent.
