While positively adorable in this photo, little Diego clearly was ill. There’s something so incredibly sad about a sick child. All you want to do is make him feel better, take his aches and pains away, but you can’t. Illness is the first of what will be countless times when all you can do is offer the child comfort, but no cure. So I offered him all I had today and I hope so much it made everything just a little more bearable.
