Some kids are pure rock n roll. This guy? While he rocks plenty - in this chair, on his little hobby-horse, on couches and in his car seat - he is less about the rolling than he is the reading. Here he’s captured cracking a book while trying to keep his balance in his room’s rocking chair. We put him to sleep every night in this chair, but in the morning, as waking light floods his room, he frequently climbs up searching for just the right book to chill with. As a side note, I love the blanket framed in this shot. Whenever a child is born, lucky parents are flooded with gifts of comfy blankets, but this super-soft embroidered one from a friend of Diego’s mom is my favorite.
