Out there. It’s where I want to be.

The stubborn streak in our son is formidable. I have likely mentioned it before, and probably admitted to my own lack of stubbornness which I know some will say is false representation, but truthfully I see myself as easy-to-compromise and flexible with my own needs. Prove to me your point and I’ll pretty quickly agree to whatever it is you want me to. Alas, I have had a hand in creating an incredibly willful and strong-minded youngster that doesn’t take no for an answer until it gets transformed into something just as awesome as the thing said no to. So if Diego cannot get outside because it’s raining, he’ll get to the idling car and press every button, turn every knob, steer the wheel and check the mirrors because the consolation must be awesome if it is to be accepted. And just wait until he reaches the point when the apparent consolation prize is the actual object of his desire! He’ll be clever enough to pull of that level of quiet stubbornness before too long. Of this, I am certain.
