Rainbow Lorrikeet outside our Perth Apartment

I'm really struggling to keep up at the moment as I have been back at work (that retirement didn't last long!) recently and also busy with a total revamp of our garden, the camera seems to take second place. So I thought I would just fill some gaps with photos from our trip to Australia.
A fabulous shot and lovely composition, fav!

This is beautiful! I know the 'struggling to keep up' feeling. I haven't gone back to work or anything radical like that ... but the work on our house and our garden revamp is very time consuming too! That and getting back in touch with friends and family in Scotland. It's all go! A quieter rainy afternoon now though, so a catch up moment!

Beautiful colours on this small bird. Unfortunately in NZ they are an introduced pest, as they compete with the native birds. I love them!!

So, you came to Australia, Judith. Hope you had a great trip and got to see lots of exotic wildlife. I remember your welcome and delightful comments on my project when I was posting regularly a few years ago. I'm pleased to be back again and will continue to follow. This is an exceptionally beautiful capture of the lorikeet. They love those orange seeds. Fav. for me.

@girlie yes, we spent 10 months there last year and we are going to be back again in April to finish the lap!

They're such pretty birds, but it's a shame that they were released here in the 70s. They're becoming quite a problem in some areas. I hope the return to work isn't permanent :)

@merrelyn not permanent, just locum work but it:a all grist to the travel fund!

Hope you enjoyed your trip down under. I am also struggling not to. “Fail” at retirement and end up doing too much work!
