Our last day in Australia, and sadly very overcast. We went for a walk through Burswood Park and this was one of the delightful statues scattered around the park. It depicts Dame Mary Durack, a well known Australian historical chronicler reading to herself as a child.
It wasn't the best of days for you. We only go to the Burswood area if we're going to a show so I haven't seen this lovely statue. I might have to remedy that. Safe travels :)
I think the brolly girls need to get over there and sit on the bench with them :) Have a safe trip home - so sad you were on the other side of Australia this time! fav
@helenhall According to a plaque by the statue "The adult figure takes the role of an ancestor passing on the family history. The two "Mary's", child and adult, share a sense of purpose: their attention is riveted to each other and the volume they hold is "The Swan River Saga"
