Looks suspiciously like the one I photographed the other day and which has been identified by some very knowledgeable 365 members as Tussock Moth/Vapourer It's strange because I'm pretty sure I had never seen one before and I believe you don't live a million miles away from me so maybe there's an influx of them this year! Ps I believe they have quite a reputation for decimating plants!
@paulaw Thanks Paula, this was in Felixstowe and I have certainly never seen them before. I think when I visit today I might take my gardening gloves as this is a beautifully planted new garden so lots of lovely tender shoots for him!
Great shot!! it's some kind of caterpillar, and I have seen them before, but don't know what they are called. Fantastic colours! They are certainly very hungry caterpillars!
