Back to reality after a couple of exciting days and, feeling bad about having left Monty for quite a bit, I thought I'd take him off lead by the river at Waterbeach. All was going well, we were well on the way down the towpath and Monty was enjoying the reeds by the water's edge, when he suddenly decided he'd head for home. Assuming that he wanted to finish a sandwich he'd found earlier I didn't really rush after him - and then he ignored the sandwich and headed for the road and I did set off at a pace. The road there is about as bad as it can be for a loose dog (fast and on a blind corner) but somebody was looking out for him because a pedestrian (a rarity in those parts) passed the end of the path just as he arrived and very kindly stopped to make sure he didn't go in to the traffic and stayed until I arrived panting and shouting. Needless to say he had a good telling off.
A daisy growing out of the top of the wall where Monty almost escaped - I didn't even have to bend down for it.
Beautiful focus on that lovely lone daisy. Nice light too. Don't our pets frighten us to death! Our old lab once took off after a rabbit when we were well into fields and away from roads. We heard screech of brakes from far off and thought that's it but no soon after he comes lolloping along! Prob a squashed rabbit on the road though!
Gorgeous! Made me think of a lovely Auntie who used to sing a hymn 'Day by day the little daisy looks up with its yellow eye'.......nostalgia is a wonderful thing!
Stunning daisy shot with beautiful natural earthy tones and spot on focus. A fav for this lovely shot but a smack on Monty's fluffy little backside from me! Naughty chap, he certainly knows his own mind! Why did he want to go home?
Heart in mouth time.......he is going off the rails as he gets older....kicking over the traces! Lovely focus here ....a daisy & a lovely bit of mossy stuff.
Lovely, so lovely!! The brightness of that flower against the dark bokeh and the grass makes it really stand out as a harbinger of spring. And, I am so glad Monty did not manage to run out onto the street!
