I'm struggling to get out to take any interesting photos so I'm afraid you're stuck with domestic nonsense. I crocheted a blanket last year for a project called Sixty Million Trebles. The number reflects the number of refugees currently escaping wars and in places they don't really want to be. In order to raise enough money to get all the blankets shipped out to Syria etc they are also attempting to make the world's biggest blanket composed of 60 million treble crochet stitches or the equivalent. Some amazing ladies will stitch the hundreds of blankets together, yarn bomb somewhere significant and then unstitch it all and distribute to children in need. It took me ages crocheting my first offering so I am knitting the next one - I don't know how many trebles it will contribute to the total but it will be warm and cheerful. The work rate of some contributors to the group is mind blowing - not least that their joints are up to it!
@ruthmouch There's a Facebook group. There has been some controversy as it's year long project and some people would rather send their blankets off straight away - nothing stopping individuals doing that of course - but the ladies who are organising this are (in my opinion) getting a much greater number of blankets made in the long run.
What a wonderful project. Your crocheting is beautiful. Wish I crocheted. I knit and love to do it. Haven't done any for awhile but keep thinking I'll find a project I want to do....
