I have promised to come back and failed at the first hurdle on the photo front today (18th June). It's been sooo blooming hot!! Anyway - I did take my camera to Trinity's Singing on the River on the 11th June. It rounded off a very lovely 365 weekend spent with Peter de Graaff, Alison Tomlin and Juliette Packham. In the spring Trinity installed some plastic coyotes on the lawns to try and deter geese (specifically Canada) which make a lot of mess. Well they wasted their money becasue not only have the Canada geese nested very successfully but they also have so British geese as well. It was dim light so I've had to add some Orton filter to disguise (a bit) the graininess.
@happypat Carnage out on the water this weekend. 'Suicide Sunday' today when the students try to drink themselves into oblivion. My neighbour said all his punts were returned full of water yesterday!
Impossible trying to control geese - they do such damage to the crops in NZ that they cull them! Can't do that in Cambridge! This crew looks as if it is having fun!
The heat has been intense and I am sitting here still vastly overheated at 10.45 pm. Lovely to see this photo with the punters. Their faces and expressions are so clear I like the concentration of the punter.
@jantan it's only a day away.... Didn't manage to leave the house despite the balls being on. The heat has been a bit much - might give it a shot tomorrow as it's cooling off a bit. I've tranquillised the dog - we'll see if they've worked in a couple of hours!
True that! Yes it is rather warm. Why are you tranquilising young Montague? The heat? Or is it thundering near you (yet!) ? I've just started clipping ours myself - it was costing nearly £100 every two months to have the boys done. Takes me hours at the moment, and being covered in clipped hair in this weather is not good!
@jantan fireworks - they'll be at their worst last night and tonight. Tranquillisers a waste of time - Monty squeezed himself retching under our bed. Stayed there all night with me up and down encouraging him to drink water and making sure the fans were on him. Nigel had to lift the bed to get him out this morning.
