I went out with a view to taking some fairground shots as the Midsummer Fair is on. It's a huge event that dates back to 1211 and is a chance for the travelling fairground families to get together and meet up with relatives, arrange marriages etc. I tend to wander through in the mornings during the week and quite often chat with the stallholders about life in general and eavesdrop on their discussions about how they are managing travelling around with educating the kids etc. Unfortunately this year Saturday was the first time that it's been cool enough to take Monty out in daytime and on Saturdays all the non-travelling travellers arrive from around the area . We were wandering along near a group of swaggering young Irish traveller boys who were well in to drinking, had bottles of beer in their back pockets and were blatantly throwing rubbish all over the street so we decided to give it a wide berth with my camera. Shame a few of them give everybody else a bad name.
Anyway - spot the ball haha!!
What a happy boy, he's almost laughing! I haven't heard any Monty health problems lately so hope he's in good form? Cambridge is the place to be then, always something going on!
