This is the nearest I’m going to get to a hummingbird any time soon. The robins have a nice feeder with a perch that they can (and do) use but some of them insist on expending more energy than they gain by doing this.
A frustrating afternoon was spent attempting to buy a new car today. We had a test drive appointment for 12.30, arrived to find the sales rep saying he was with somebody else for 15 mins and then when he came back he announced the test drive car had been given to somebody else and wasn’t due back till 2.30. He eventually found an inferior model and let us drive it for about 5 minutes before somebody from the dealership was on the phone saying they wanted it back. At that point we decided we would go and look at a different make but that dealership was not satisfied with passport, driver’s license or, indeed, our other more expensive car parked on their forecourt and wanted us to email them a pdf of a bank statement. We politely told them what to do with that suggestion and the afternoon was redeemed by bumping into old friends who had been similarly thwarted and had a nice chat.
Weather: v nice but still a chill wind
Covid: haven’t checked
Good thing: thank you for all the lovely comments on yesterday’s backlit robin.
Such a fabulous shot of this robin making life a little more difficult than necessary. Sounds like the car dealerships were doing the same. How incredibly frustrating!!
Well I’m shocked...who the heck do they think they are...should be biting your hand off...too big for their boots by far!
Amazing shot of this robin fluttering away....our robins don’t seem to go on bird feeders like this so even better!
That's an awesome photo! And who'd have thought that it would be so difficult to buy a car, esp in this environment. Almost makes me long for the Arthur Dailies of this world!
