Not a photograph with any artistic (or other) merit but I went out to a concert and wanted to record the moment for posterity! It’s a very quick iPhone shot before I turned my phone off but it does feature two friends in the audience - we had all got tickets unbeknownst to each other including one that was a gift from the lead violinist who was brilliant. The main performance was by Sheku Kenneth Mason and he really was a treat - very casually dressed and clearly enjoying the orchestra - he kept turning round to watch the different sections and had a great rapport with the lead violin while banging out an incredible performance. The thousands of hours of practice are very evident. He also played a little encore with the lead cellist which drew tears from the orchestra and, as a result, the audience - the relief at being able to perform live was palpable.
Weather: beautiful sunny day
Covid: a step towards normality
Good thing: 40% occupancy and a seating plan means everybody can see!
So lucky to attend a concert! We sat on the end of the bed in the spare room and watched the Academy of Ancient Music on my new large computer screen. Ray had bought a ticket for one for £6.80!
