Well I won't be blowing mine today as I went out without a camera battery AGAIN and missed several great photo opportunities on our dog walk. Then lots of the flowers are going over in the garden, the cat was nowhere to be seen, the kids didn't like the curry I slaved over, ironing beckoned and I had no photo for today. Well this is Adam's trumpet - it's a lovely instrument that doesn't get played nearly enough and Sunday nights are often characterised by me shouting 'trumpet practice' fruitlessly at the living room door. I don't know if I've done it justice but I like it framed.
To be fair - my allium photo was also a last minute desperate shot and you lovely people have commented and faved and put it on PP and I love you all!!! Many thanks!
I love this shot! Instruments make such fabulous photos. You've done an excellent job with this, Judith ~ love the composition, focus, framing and b/w formality.
This is a wonderful shot, great angle, the reflection & the hint of a music score in the background . How wonderful to be able to play the trumpet so keep him at it, he will be grateful & it's such a cool instrument. My grandchildren play flute, guitar & piano & it's wonderful to hear them !
great shot - such a great subject matter. Love the B&W and PoV. Your commentry just made me laugh, took me back to the days when my mum used to shout at me for piano practise, once i'd huffed through that i'd get shouted at again for viola procatise, then again for tenor horn practise! I got good grades despite no practise!!
Judith, lovely composition and a great B/W conversion, I like the narrative regarding 'nagging' for trumpet practice :)...we used to 'nag' our daughters for not doing trumpet practice ..but hey guess what , my eldest is now a music teacher at secondary school :)
Love reading about your human frailties. Allows me to forgive myself for doing things like going out without batteries! ...re Music practice, only yesterday my eldest daughter chastised me for giving in and not making her continue music lessons when she was a teenager. Keep up the battle. From my experience they'll only discover the worth of your nagging in adulthood. Oh, by the way, loved the framed black and white!!!
