I've taken this building a few times before as it frames the sky so brilliantly but there was always something missing. Turns out that that missing item may just have been a very large dog! I walked around West Cambridge with @jannaellen at lunchtime and she assisted my photography class homework enormously by hanging on to Monty while I took a few pics. Thanks Janna!!
Thanks to everybody on your kind comments yesterday - I'm slipping on commenting as I was out at a school meeting last night and will be out again tonight - I'll be catching up as best as I can - sorry for any delays.
this is a fantastic shot - the big dog completes it perfectly - I do like this building with those red and yellow slats over the walkway - I often see it when cycling past on the other side - never thought to take a picture from this side. Have you ever tried photographing the Slumberger building? - that's one I keep wanting to capture.
@helenmoss I don't know how to get close to that - do you think we'd get arrested for sidling up with a camera - it always looks so isolated? The bike sheds at the Bill Gates remind me of the Slumberger - I've never got a decent shot of them!
Really impressive building & what a great capture ..the dog is just in the right place ! The composition is perfect & I love the ceiling bit the way the light catches the spars .
Brilliant capture Judith, love the dog and people walking into the image :)
I'm getting quite good at taking pictures with a dog on the lead of my other hand :)
If you visit this location again , then if you stood a few paces to the left you could get the red 'WEST' in the frame which would give the image even more impact. It's still a superb image as it stands but I'd love to see a 'red west' in there too :)
