Big sky, big dog! by judithg

Big sky, big dog!

I've taken this building a few times before as it frames the sky so brilliantly but there was always something missing. Turns out that that missing item may just have been a very large dog! I walked around West Cambridge with @jannaellen at lunchtime and she assisted my photography class homework enormously by hanging on to Monty while I took a few pics. Thanks Janna!!

Thanks to everybody on your kind comments yesterday - I'm slipping on commenting as I was out at a school meeting last night and will be out again tonight - I'll be catching up as best as I can - sorry for any delays.
It was my immense pleasure :). I love the way you composed this shot! Love your title as well ;).

This is smashing. And eth dog provides the action to contrast with the stark still lines of teh building.

This is so interesting! Love it!

Wow. Great building, nice lines, nice composition, a lot of contrast - and I think the dog and people are a great finishing touch! A Fav, beautiful!

this is a fantastic shot - the big dog completes it perfectly - I do like this building with those red and yellow slats over the walkway - I often see it when cycling past on the other side - never thought to take a picture from this side. Have you ever tried photographing the Slumberger building? - that's one I keep wanting to capture.

@helenmoss I don't know how to get close to that - do you think we'd get arrested for sidling up with a camera - it always looks so isolated? The bike sheds at the Bill Gates remind me of the Slumberger - I've never got a decent shot of them!

@remcogreutink Thank you very much - your sort of building I think!

Really impressive building & what a great capture ..the dog is just in the right place ! The composition is perfect & I love the ceiling bit the way the light catches the spars .

Simply gorgeous, Judith!

The sky seems to be an integral part of the building. a striking shot.

@judithg Definitely - it looks awesome!

Brilliant capture Judith, love the dog and people walking into the image :)

I'm getting quite good at taking pictures with a dog on the lead of my other hand :)

If you visit this location again , then if you stood a few paces to the left you could get the red 'WEST' in the frame which would give the image even more impact. It's still a superb image as it stands but I'd love to see a 'red west' in there too :)

I love the light in this, it's somehow "fake" but in a good way!

@phil_howcroft Yes - it's very annoying that pole - I have avoided it before but was distracted by the dog this time!!
