I took some proper 'posed' flower shots in the gardens of Murray Edwards College (New Hall as was) but something about this chaotic mass of seed heads took my fancy. Probably just looks like a mess to everyone else - sorry! A long time ago I had a fellowship at New Hall - wish I'd made more use of it really but I was working miles away and couldn't get over to lunch which is when all the action happened. I was on the garden committee which was the least intellectually intimidating job I could find and involved me nodding sagely quite frequently but not much else. The new younger head gardener has done some really gorgeous modern planting to go with the smart new buildings and sculpture collection in the grounds. And he allows dogs to walk through though I don't like to deviate from the main path. At the moment everything is 'going over' (or coming into its prime if you happen to be a bird).
Re Berlin: Berlin is an excellent city to visit with toddlers - my own country is pretty child friendly but nothing compared to Berlin. I am sure teenagers will love the city too. I can absolutely recommend our apartment in Prenzlauer Berg too - if you are interested leave your mail address in a comment at an old photo of mine and I will get back to you with the details.
Lovely colours here & I love the framing! You must have lots of lovely memories of New Hall & perhaps you did pick up some tips on the 'garden committee' !!
Love this..the creams and purple and the fluffiness. Glad to hear young gardeners are making their mark. Are you going to the folk festival this weekend?
