There's a huge spider's web across the door of my greenhouse and the spider in the middle is growing larger and larger. I don't like to break the web so I duck underneath it and once inside I have to navigate around another big web to get to the tomatoes. I'm REALLY not happy with this shot (although I have worked out macro-zoom on my P& S which is something) but it's better than the other rubbish I've got today. And the week was going so well up until now - I was pleased with my pics again after a lean phase. Anyway - thanks for your lovely comments on my ghostly shot - it made up for a rather disappointing tour!
Spiders are not that easy to capture, it's a good one. I laughed at your text because I have the same in my garden, and knowing where the webs are, I do the same, kind of playing Catherine Zeta-Jones in Entrapment! OK, sometimes they tighten a new thread during the night, so I always end up breaking some :-))
He looks quite scary, I think it must be the colour !! I know what you mean about not breaking the web after all that effort they have put in ...we are a soft bunch !!! I can see one of your tomatoes beyond the web !!!
Sharpness and clarity are spot on and this is a very interesting-looking spider. The only thing I don't like about this is the huge spider in the middle ;). I know I'm one to talk with my recent spider pic ;)).
I wonder what the image would look like rotated through 180 degrees. Would it work better? I'm tempted to turn my laptop through 180 degrees but dare not risk doing that !!! I did turn my head through 180 degrees (and I've had a couple of glasses of wine too) and I think it DOES look better :)
Good spot Pat - @happypat - I almost missed the tom's while standing on my head
That's a fantastic macro shot you've got with your P&S - wonderful detail. I think our pet one outside our front door is pregnant as her belly's getting fatter by the day - we're going to be spiderling parents!
Oh my gosh ~ that's amazing. You've captured every creepy little spiky hair on her body. This is marvelous, Judith. Sorry she's making gardening a bit difficult ~ but she's a wonderful photo op. :)
