Well I chose a very unscenic destination for our walk today. Started off around a lake formed from an ex-quarry. These can be nicely done but when they are squashed between a motorway and a guided busway they don't stand much chance. In the summer it's not too bad but on a grey day when I was squelching through mud in the wrong footwear I was wondering what had induced me to go there. I thought I was going to post a lovely robin that posed so nicely for me but in the end I've gone for a cyclist (it was nearly a runner going the other way honest!) because the wet concrete tracks were interesting. I've added a bit of zoom because the background was annoying me - shame really as the tracks were interesting in their own right. Sorry for rather inconsistent commenting - evenings have been a bit busy of late.
Three good things:
1. The daffodils are bursting out all over
2. The rhubarb is sallying forth
3. The days are getting noticeably longer
That zoom is incredible...so effective & makes a very interesting effect of the speed. Very uninspiring weather for photos, I could do to go into town & try some gritty black & white!
I really like this...the lines, the balance with the cyclist, the edit. How did you do the zoom? Did you zoom with your lens while shutter was doing its thing? I'm jealous re your daffodils and rhubarb. Fav
this is a great shot - my commenting has gone awry too - so much going on. Haven't notice the days getting longer - only in that I seem to be working more hours and getting home later and it's still dark!! fav for me matey x
Also I think you made the right call not posting the posing robin: http://www.guardian.co.uk/lifeandstyle/cartoon/2013/jan/26/2#zoomed-picture
