The wind hasn't completely dropped but it must have changed direction because it's possible to venture outside and actually enjoy it. Adam played in his first men's hockey game this morning (quite old for a debut in men's hockey where the transition is often at 14 but he's been lucky enough to have lots of games at school and up to U16 for the club) so we were over in the south of the city. Monty and I had a leisurely stroll and quite a long hooping session which allowed me to catch this little longed tailed tit which was hopping about above us. For a second time I caught a glimpse of what I think is a Little Grebe in the river - the little devil immediately dives and reappears somewhere out of sight - which is a characteristic of Little Grebes and makes me more confident in my identification.
Three good things:
1. Rachel has done her 3rd Dan pre-test today - 4 gruelling hours and dad (biased and proud of course but almost certainly correct!) says she was fab.
2. The first proper day of spring.
3. GB Sewing Bee - finally watching it on demand and loved it - I can guarantee that NOBODY will watch it with me which is a shame because it's as much about characters as about sewing - I have to say that so far I think the blokes are getting away with quite a bit (though I liked the green dress!)
Halleluja indeed! at last.........apparently May day signals the end of spring so we've a lot to pack in a short space of time, mother nature better get her skates on!!!Lovely LT tit........so sweet. Loved the characters in the sewing B..........will be interesting to see what happens, Vivian watched it with me and enjoyed it...well, he had to!!!
We never get long tailed tits in our garden & he is a sweet little bird, he has quite an impressive bib of white feathers!
Good for both Adam & Rachel , they have done so well in their chosen sports.
I too loved the Sewing Bee even though my idea of hell is having to sew anything!!! It's going to be quite an interesting programme...glad they found some willing men & both of them seem quite characters!!
A beautiful capture, you must be so proud of Adam & Rachel . As you say it at last feels like spring is on the way . We went for a walk round the fields by our house which was an achievement for me as it includes going over stiles . when I tried to put todays pic on "error " came up ,& I realised I had missed The 3rd & so that is were my pic is for today
SUN! LIGHT! BLUE SKIES! ? we must've been teleported somewhere in our sleep! It was great to hear the birds singing whilst I was doing garden chores today. Hope your back is feeling better
a lovely shot judith , the sun and blue skies were gr8 today ...i sat in my t-shit and hoodie at the football today...whereas on Tuesday I had multiple layers and a North Face coat..a balmy 11C in Bolton today :)
Well done- you've captured a lovely bird shot. Yes I watched the sewing bee prog this week - and Peter immediately went out of the room. I really enjoyed it and thought the older lady was brilliant!
Fabulous focus of this sweet bird. Glad you are finally getting spring. Weather bug says the place I am going on a photoshoot will have snow and cold rain. Ugh! What is a pre Dan?
A lovely shot. I think LT Tits are my favourites but they don't stay for too long! Count me out of the sewing thing as well ..lol The good news is that Jules has missed it - should I tell her?
