It's 'Suicide Sunday' today when the colleges implore the students to be moderate in their end of year celebrations and the students ignore them. Though they were being very well behaved on Jesus Green when I walked through with camera there were quite a lot behaving like a@£$% in town. Still for 99% of the time they don't cause any bother. This photo was taken on Abbey Road - one of a very small number of Cambridge streets which is on a noticeable incline.
I'm AWOL this week as we are off to Firenze (via Pisa) - if I don't get my phojo back there I'm lost. I shall miss you all and catch up at the weekend.
Three GT:
1. Nice enough to eat outside this evening.
2. Hoping to meet one of my Lancashire cousins and her new fiancé in Florence if we can get there in time.
3. Just about packed and sorted and I'm paranoid enough to check the Advance Passenger Information and notice it was wrong!!
Very nice shot! Enjoy your trip. I went last year and I really had such a great time! Hope you made reservations for all the places you want to see, saves you lots of time! :)
Someone has a very classy eye here, those pots look so wonderful against that white corner & the stone step...a proper step it is too with a proper 'lip'...that would take some ''donkey stoning'' in the old days!!
Have a fabulous, wonderful time in Florence...lucky you to see new photo ops & have your meals made!! Enjoy a good rest!
@happypat I've got my eye on one of these - lovely basement kitchens & I've always fancied stairs up to the front door - though I hardly go upstairs now so why I'd want a house with 4 flours I don't know!
They've made a good choice of flowers for this pot with the centres the same colour as the door - we're all off on hols as I'm going to Sweden Thursday - I'm very excited!
As the others have said - the flower/door co-ordination is very thoughtful and I love your composition with only a section of the door showing. Have a great holiday!
I really love the composition of this. Hope you have a fantastic time in Florence. It is very near the top of places of my list of places I want to visit. Bet you'll get some fab photos
Have a wonderful time. I love this shot- the colors, contrasts, composition. I hate to think of the photos you will post if you get your photo mojo back!
Yes, but that is the obly one I did not book. I only walked up the steeple (not the bell tower) and didn't go inside as you get a great view of the inside from above. but book the tower of Pisa if you want to climb it. We also reserved for Galleria dell'Arte!
And you can have great food at Ruth's - it's kosher and vegetarian. Right next to the synagogue. And the Galileo museum is very interesting, has aircon and was pleasantly empty!
beautifully composed and shot judith ....it could almost pass as a shot of an Italian doorway too.... buone vacanze (courtesy of google translate... i can't do any Italian !!!)
Lovely vignette. Don't worry about finding your phojo - just enjoy - if it happens it happens. Of course we hope it will, but let it rest and have a vacation, too.
This is so very beautiful - a great picture to say "goodbye" for a few days. Wow, Firenze - sounds awesome! Can't wait for the pictures. Have a safe and wonderful trip!
