He wasn't of course, he was after fish but I was amazed when I looked on my camera screen to see that I'd taken a fly in flight from the other side of the river. I have been trying to work today but have been interrupted by ferrying offspring to various workplaces and/or to school with huge piles of textbooks for return. I agreed to meet Rachel to walk the dog after her punt tour and just as we were heading back to the car she had a call asking her to take out another tour. We were literally yards from the punt station so it was very handy and I diverted with her and walked back by a different route which runs alongside the river. I was delighted to spot this bold heron in the gardens of the Doubletree hotel so I switched to zoom and manoeuvred round so that the black outdoor bar was in the background. I've zoomed in too far here for quality - I may post another as I have a track record of getting set up just in time for herons to fly off! I'm behind on posting and commenting and I'm out again tonight for a meeting so apologies and thanks for all your comments on my Italian week.
Three good things:
1. Serendipity
2. Both offspring engaged in gainful employment tomorrow
3. Finally fixed the curtain rail in the spare room :0)
very cool shot - I've been AWOL too and need to catch up on your Italian photos...might have to be later in the week as I'm sneakily typing at work at the moment!!
@catwoman2 Nobody at it - there for wedding parties etc if the weather ever improves. There was a man feeding the ducks just along the bank though & it ignored him.
