But I'm afraid I don't know its name. I am rather fond of it though as it's injecting welcome colour when lots of flowers are on the wane. I edited it in Camerabag for Mac.
Thank you for all the lovely comments and favs on my recent photos - I've been struggling, as we all do quite often (well most of us!), for inspiration so it's been keeping me going.
We had a visit today from some old colleagues of Nigel's who have recently moved back to Cambridge from California. I was stunned to learn that they've been away 18 years - I feel aged!
Three good things:
1. My little doggy who was very well behaved with the visitors including a nervous child.
2. A lovely day with some more September warmth to come.
3. It's Friday.
Love the stamens sticking up in the dark back ground & the shine on the leaves in the front....a very vivid colour Judith & well named!
I saw a college from Cambridge on Masterchef last night, I didn't just catch the title...but it all looked very up market, they were ding in great style!
Yes I'd like a Lucifer, but this one's very bright and beautiful. I bought a new yellow one recently called George Davison - I just went to look at the label!
@happypat I've Googled - Gonville and Caius - I've never been in because when I was at St John's Cauis was famous for having the worst food in Cambridge! I think Nigel may have been as he was trying to dine his way around all the colleges. Maybe they've got a new chef - I could take a photo of their smoking corner!
@judithg Oh do , it was all wood panelling which I suppose is the norm in Cambridge but they all seemed frightfully posh & mummy & daddys there too...very nice really I am only joking but it did seem another world to this real one.
They just had a piece on Gardeners World about crocosmia but I'm afraid I wasn't paying enough attention to recognise which one this would be. Too much time spent on 365 at the same time! xx
Lovely burst of colour especially against the black. Am struggling a bit myself this week, hence 3 heron shots and a day behind! am going to try and get out of London tomorrow and see if that helps. Have a lovely weekend.
You are not alone in struggling a bit at the moment but from your great shots you would'nt know it! This a lovely exotic looking flower and it's new to me.
