I'm really disappointed with this afternoon's shots. It was mid afternoon by the time I'd got through enough work to head out with Monty and it was drizzling and the light was poor (in fact a lady I met twice walking her dog the opposite way around the circuit I was taking described it as 'totally, absolutely miserable' - but I'm reserving that for when it goes cold tomorrow!) but I thought I had taken some good shots. Instead the colours are drab and generally the focus is off. And in previous years November has been my best month for photos...sigh. Oh well - here is Senate House Passage with Gonville and Caius' sundial on the left - good job we aren't relying on that at the moment.
Three GT:
1. I have ticked off quite a few tasks that needed attention.
2. I have stocked the fridge.
3. The new iron seems to be working OK so that's Nigel's birthday/Christmas present sorted ;0)
PS Thanks hugely for all your comments - I really do appreciate them. I may go a bit quiet as it's 'calendar construction' time and it always takes a while - but I will be catching up with you when I can.
I didn't think it was too bad a day today - but maybe it's because I haven't ventured out yet! I so wish I'd had my camera yesterday as it was gorgeous November weather in the hills in Scotland!
I think this is a really imaginative shot. I really like the low pov and the damp autumnal feel. I came up from Exeter on the train today and the weather got steadily worse as I got closer to Cambridge.
I think the PoV is fantastic in this, though how you got this low is amazing, or were there some perfectly placed steps!? Are you doing a calendar on Photobox, because I tried yesterday and all the images seemed to come out to small according to the girl on the end of the phone, which is odd as I have done nothing to change the sizes, plus if the shot wasn't a perfect landscape size it didn't fit....have given up now, have to think of other present ideas, really annoying!!
@jo13 Yes I always do a an A3 wall calendar. These days they are pretty much customisable - I manipulate the size of the photo boxes to whatever I want. Do you mean your file size is too small? I've only had problems with too big.
@judithg Not really sure, the girl keep saying that I must have cropped it as the image was too small, so I'm rather in the dark, plus when I uploaded a portrait shaped shot only a portion of the image showed in the box, the girl on the phone was able to look at the problems as we spoke by logging into my account but didn't seem able to help me, and I have missed the special offer now!
@judithg They will have more special offers! I use the standard upload and haven't had any problems. If you want another go I'd call up again incase you got somebody inexperienced.
i quite like the moody tones in this... and wonderful low pov and murky reflection... i think this works quite well - and is very representative of november - at least in my experience!
