Bit of a weird day. I finally got round to booking our 'cat who lives next door' in for her vaccinations, went round to get her 20 mins ahead of time and she was 'out' and showing no signs of reappearing. So I cancelled that appointment and hung around for another 40 mins as the vets had vacancies up until then. After another trip next door went unanswered I took the dog out and came back to find that the cat had in fact been asleep on a bed. Sigh. Anyway it turned out that was a highlight compared with the fruitless shopping for wedding clothes that consumed the afternoon and a fair whack of parking charge. After a successful reccy of John Lewis last week, identifying a number of promising options, I discovered that they have had a complete restock. Meanwhile the lack of decent service in suit buying establishments is woeful. Found Nigel a really lovely suit but with a new style sleeve which basically requires you to have wasted forearms. And the dress shopping is best summed up by Nigel offering to design me a sit up routine and stating that now I had an incentive to diet - sniff....
After looking at beautiful but rather darkish photos today I was energised to see this wonderfully summery shot.......thought it might be yours before I looked!
If it's the wedding I think it is you must look very smart as no doubt you will........oh to have a lovely summer wedding to go to ....not up here is it?
@happypat Newby Bridge Pat - very frustrated as have to travel up late the night before due to Adam's art exhibition and leave promptly the day after for a karate thing. Would love to have had a few days. And it is the one you're thinking of - a skinny lot - I'll have to stand next to the big men!
I like all the fuzzy detail. The other day I was bemoaning having to go dress shopping for an upcoming wedding, and how I couldn't wear last years one because it had done at least one wedding in the same group of friends and every other major event dressy I went to last year, and JB looked at me like I'm a mentalist and told me I wasn't the queen. And after I'd got over the pain of that realisation I accepted I'm just going to wear last years (capacious, forgiving post-preg) dress again and accept that no-one else in the world cares in the slightest!
@jewelsandbinoculars it's a very true fact - ask yourself if you can remember what anyone else wore. Sadly my previous wedding wear is either too big (but rapidly heading back to fitting again!) or bought for an autumn wedding & likely to induce hot flushes but I hate the fact that our most expensive purchases get worn the fewest times.
