A really fun day which actually started last night when we realised that all the caravan and support cars were being routed past our house. We've had everything from the gendarmerie to novelty floats and I saw this car go past and then felt it was 'mine' when it was following the peloton. Wish the council had bothered to tell us as the road would have made an effort with flags and stuff. Anyway Rachel and I managed to find a place to watch the action - not the most scenic spot in the city but it was handy for Nigel finding us later on after some work commitments. Anyway I'd have been better using my phone to take pics of the riders or at least switch my camera to sports mode because I only got one out of focus shot. But I really wanted to see it not photograph it if I'm honest. All over rather quick!
Three GT:
1. A great holiday atmosphere in the city
2. Checking my email at 3am and finding Adam has arrived safely.
3. French accents everywhere we turned - I'd no idea that they bring their own police and ambulances etc.
Well you got the bikes lovely & clearly.......no good being behind a lens when something goes past quickly.....done that & you never get to see anything properly! Must have been fantastic to have all going past your house! Fame! Relief Adam has arrived!
I love how you've got the bikes in focus and the people blurred. Excellent - and how convenient to be able to view from your road. I did think about coming in today, but my son was there on his bike so I'm hoping he'll send me some photos.
Good shot, with the blur of the people and the bikes in focus. Was sorry I missed all the fun - a difficult decision, but this seemed the only weekend I could be in B'rum, and it's always hopeless trying to travel by train on Sundays.
Well they have had a great start to the Tour this year! One of the cousins saw the peleton pass near where they live in Woodford Green and our Jonathan was really envious. He absolutely loves anything and everything to do with the Tour de France.
I managed to see the tour the last two times it was in England which shows my age but have enjoyed watching it on the TV this time, however nothing quite compares to being there . Love this shot great vision well executed .
As the picture unfolded - slowly - I wondered what I was going to see! Blurred windows then all of a sudden, the yellow bikes and I was so pleased! Saw it on the news yesterday and wondered if you would be around! I loved what you say but you must have been worried to check your email at 3am!!
Been waiting for your tour shot, knew you wouldn't disappoint! Love the sharp and vibrant yellow of the bikes against the blur, nice capture. Yes you can't see and shoot at the same time when it's so quick. Did you see the shot on BBC East of the bikes against Kings College, it was a great capture.
