It was a filthy night with lots of heavy rain which meant a barky dog. At 3am I stuck him in the lounge because it's quieter in there than the kitchen with its Velux windows. At 6am he wandered upstairs to see me and was promptly taken back to bed. So not a great start to the day. The rain continued unabated and my friend had to cancel her visit to me as she couldn't get out of her house for the queues of traffic. Anyway I cracked on with visits to the bank etc and then took Monty outside. I was heading round the block but Monty set his feet firmly by the car and gave me a 'look' so I capitulated as I haven't been into town for a while. Not exactly a good day for photography - dark an dreary but the colours by the river were pretty.
Huge thanks for the lovely comments on my unreliant robin - really chuffed.
A touch of the Ortons? Has a lovely misty feel to it. I have an idea - you should go and wake Monty up several times in the night when he's sleeping, maybe he'll get the message!
@fueast It's tempting. The barking is driving me mad at the moment - yesterday was barking at his reflection in the oven and tonight was light reflecting onto the kitchen ceiling from a pan and somebody putting their dustbin out. And the cat's been walking in wet paint faster than I could clean it up. Give me strength.
It's so nice to see a picture on the timeline and immediately know it's yours. It's also wonderful to keep spending imaginary time in Cambridge through your photos and stories :). Bad Monty! He should join the "wake up the adults" club J is already a member of... Holding my fingers crossed it will get better again!
What a beautiful autumn feel to this, lovely reflections. Always a lovely view and this time it's a serene and peaceful shot. Maybe it's Monty who needs the sleeping tablets. Poor you horrible getting disturbed so much.
Hahaha you got the walker smack bang in the middle! Wonderful shot, autumn in Cambridge. A fav. Eve's bus took 2 hours to get to Hills Road for. Horseheath at 7.30 this morning! The rain made everyone want to drive today I guess.
You can buy a collar for dogs which makes an ultrasonic sound when they bark and this is very effective! Love the green splash on the other side of the river as well as the beautiful bridge!
the colours and reflections are lovely judith, I can almost smell the damp autumn. I might have cropped the top and tad and took out the white sky, to concentrate on the colours and reflections
So lovely... this shot just leaped off the TP. Wonderful. I think the rain added to the soft feel of this shot. Amazing proportionate reflections. Fav.
Oh my I missed this stunner....a beautiful bridge that could only be one of your Cambridge bridges...just have a better class look to them somehow! All that lovely green lawn going down to the waters edge...only needs a few students with a picnic basket! Stunning reflection !
Can't help with Monty, he must be a bit het up.....a sleeping pill perhaps!
@judithg AH! I see. It actually reminds me a lot of Cambridge, MA. There is a series of bridges near the Harvard Business School that look like that. Neat place, and great shot. I went through your photos and there are some real corkers.
