I've posted a very similar photo of a highland cow a couple of months ago but I didn't manage to take any other decent photos today. It has been wet and dark and although the Little Grebes played ball for me the photos are too grainy. Anyway I processed this in Lightroom so it's a bit different. I'm testing out a trial version and I'm liking the results but finding it fiddly to use eg with cloning etc - I haven't quite got to grips with that - I can do the first clone but then not get rid of the 'boxes'. Any tips welcome.
I've been meaning to say that some of you may remember how I was slightly freaked out by two Libyan soldiers who approached me on either side from behind but then wanted to take photos of the dog and we had quite a nice, if limited, chat. Well two Libyan soldiers of the same ages have just pleaded guilty to multiple sexual assaults in the city's parks and sadly, I'd put money on them being the same ones - it was all just a bit too weird. Possibly it's what you get when you pretty much lock up a load of young men together for months on end - should have tired them out more. Rachel says in my case it was more of a sexual insult than a sexual assault - I look a lot younger from behind - but I do feel very angry on behalf of young women.
Fave for the Highland cow & a narrow escape for you Judith! Women wouldn't have much chance if two of them were working together. Never mind you look younger from behind I reckon Monty was your saviour......they wouldn't want to attack if you had a dog with you....an extra bone for Monty tonight! Thank goodness they are locked up. You hare to have some concern for these misplaced young people far away from a home not fit to live in. Doesn't excuse them though!
If there were two Libyan soldiers, there must have been more? Not necessarily those two who were arrested. Nice pic of this great big gentle beast. Good for you for persevering with LR - I gave up!
@maggiemae yes it could have been others (I hope it was) but the ages fit with 'my' two (20 & 27h and their behaviour was odd - not just rushing up from behind either side of me!
A fabulous shot of this beauty, love all that furry detail. I use lightroom and love it, there are loads of tutorials if u get stuck, if you press 'H' for hide, on your keypad or move the mouse off the image then the clone boxes will disappear, if I've understood you correctly?
@jo13 oh I'll try H - I watched a tutorial then couldn't remember the letter. I might be better with a book! I got rid of the boxes but when I tried to clone the next bit they came back.
@judithg I think they reappear simply to help you see where you have already been cloning and also to allow you to re click on them if you want to alter their position or to remove them altogether by clicking the delete/backspace button.
Wow - he looks almost human in his expression! Great shot and processing. That sounds pretty scary with your meeting with the two Libyan guys - well done Monty for diverting their attention. I agree that they need more exercise, in fact I think everyone should have to do a period of community service of sorts in their lives, it may make them learn to value what they have.
Lovely shot Judith and I can understand how frightening it must be looking back at the incident with the 2 soldiers having experienced intimidating behaviour of eastern Europeans in Priory Country Park recently. Fav for this lovely capture
@judithg@jo13 just reading these comments again I have to say I've got LR but only use the very basic part of it there are so many angles I hVent pursued so I have pretty much given up on it too. So much easier to edit with Snapsead when we are busy.
I love this chap! I use LR for about 80% of the time but always shift into PSE for cloning. Mind you I use LR4 and you probably have LR5 which I believe has a better cloning tool
Love this shot! FAV. Very scary incident with the soldiers. So glad they didn't attack you - I agree that Monty's barking was probably a deterrent. Wonderful they've be apprehended. For what it's worth I carry pepper spray when I'm in an isolated area. It's a crazy world!

Not good news about the soldiers ... sounds like you were very lucky!
