I brazenly snapped these two with my P & S stuck out of the car window at 7.45 am. I reckoned they wouldn't be in a great state to object after all night at a May Ball (St John's or Queens). Looks like they had a good time... shame they had lost their partners somewhere along the way as this may be my only chance for a Ball pic and nice though the suits are they aren't frocks!!
Love the mood of this shot - it so well expresses what's going on here at the moment! I had the chance to shoot some wonderfully dressed girls yesterday evening on my home but was on my bike in heavy traffic so I passed. I regret it now but at least you got a good shot, so I'm just gonna fav yours and will show it to my parents instead ;).
What a great shot. You captured the moment perfectly. I never would have guessed that this was a drive-by. It almost looks like they were caught by the paparazzi. A favorite!
yep, they definitely look like they've had a good time! I saw some girls teetering their way along Chesterton Rd in their ball gowns at around 9 this evening (on my way home from a football league AGM - after all, who needs all-night dancing, live music, feasting, champagne magicians, chocolate fountains, laser shows and fireworks when they can revel in the decadent pleasures of the treasurers' report of last season's accounts!). Unfortunately I didn't have my camera for a drive-by shot.
@clairelizteuber They have a week of them every year - different colleges on different nights. One of them does an optional extra of breakfast in Paris....
Great shot. They've got the pallid look of those who've just thrown an all-nighter. I was on the Trinity May Ball Committee (secretary and decoration - such a girl's job!) and we were up for three days and nights in a row - setting up, the Ball, clearing up. I was a shell by the end of it.
