A heavy hanging mist when I dropped Adam at the bus station had me haring off down The Backs for a photo. We haven't had a decent hanging mist since the middle of September and even since I've been kicking myself for not taking more advantage. As I drove along (heading for a point further along) the sun started to appear behind the 'turret' of King's Chapel so I decided that was the place to stop! Needless to say by the time I'd got out of the car the sun had moved around but I still got a couple of shots in before the mist cleared. Interestingly a quick dash along the path where I found my previous misty shot ( http://365project.org/judithg/365/2011-09-29 ) was fruitless - no sun or mist to take advantage of. I took this using manual focus on infinity to avoid the tree being in focus and I knocked the exposure down a couple of notches to improve the sun. I'll post a picture in my Extras with the tree in focus - I quite liked the chapel being blurry but nobody else in the house does! Interestingly when I got back in the car the fog descended and the sun disappeared so the timing wasn't bad after all.
Many thanks for all your recent encouragement during a rather slack time for pics - it really keeps me going. Parents' Evening beckons tonight so I may be a bit behind on commenting - apologies in advance.
@robinwarner All well thanks - and have a great time at the show - it must be nerve wracking exposing your work to criticism but in your case I have no worries at all - you will get rave reviews!!
Great shot Judith - yesterday's shot found me chasing the ball of sun but it was quicker than I was! Glad you were quicker that it today! Great shot - love the tones in this
I really like the effect you have achieved Judith its a fav It was very foggy here yesterday I had to go to the hospital which is near Oswestry it took an hour and half to get there , my appointment was for ten past nine. all seems to be going on ok. After we left the hospital we did a detour and came across the swans, the photos would have been much better if the sun had been out.
