I think 'bleachers' is pretty much an American word and not used in the UK partly because there are very few non-professional sports grounds here that actually have any spectator seating. However the University of East Anglia has lovely facilities which were being very well used today. Not undercover though.
The fresh air and watching of all that exercise has made me very sleepy so I'll probably catch up with commenting properly tomorrow!
Well you couldn't sit on these & a great shot of the rain coming down,... oh dear it sounds like hell but I dare say you had a bit of fun with the other mums so soon forget these discomforts !!!
These are a lot more comfortable than bleachers, Judith! At least these have backs to them, whereas, bleachers don't - they are just risers. If you have to sit in bleachers, after a while, you slump down, because you get tired of sitting up straight, When you slump down, the knees of the person behind you dig into your back! Sorry you had to sit in the rain, but the rain against the blue seats makes a very nice photo! :)
Wonderful focus and depth! My son played high school tennis (2 state championships), but we always had to take our own chairs... these seats would have been awesome!
the word 'bleachers' works for me judith....sounds a lot better than 'temporary stand'....:) ...i'd have gone ultra letterbox by just having the back row two seats cropped , you will still be able to see the rain too
yeah bleachers is one of those american ting.. but i love hearing their odd lil' wrong words for stuff, quite cute .
ace rainness judith
