One of the UK's day-flying moths which are out in force today in the meadows. This one is enjoying a pyramid orchid growing in the long grass of our local nature reserve. They have a curious fluttering flight quite different from the many butterflies which are also out in abundance today.
You are so lucky to have these flying around, either that or you are very good at spotting things. This moth looks like it is made of metal. Lovely close up.

It seems to have been a fleeting moment for them though....I was in the same meadow today and there weren't any to be seen even though there were masses of others species.
