White-legged Snake Millipede (Tachypodoiulus niger)

I found this millipede lurking under some tree bark. He's around 6cm long and has about 100 pairs of legs. Each segment of the body has two pairs of legs. Despite having so many legs they don't actually move very fast (probably scared they will get all those legs tangled!)
At first I didn't believe this...thought it was a watch strap or bracelet!. But, wow! so futureistic looking. 6 cms is long enough.

@thewatersphotos - yes he's very shiny. And the background are furrows in the wood made by some burrowing bug I think
