Wild clematis seedheads by julienne1

Wild clematis seedheads

Another grey drizzly day so I had to poke about in the hedgerows again.... Old man's beard or Clematis vitalba is said to be the devil's helper as it clambers over other plants choking many in the process! But it's also called "Travellers's Joy" because of the way it adorns the hedgerows in winter with its white seedheads
Great find from in the hedgerows. Nice colour and texture.

Nice info about this lovely clematis. 'Old man's beard' is the name my mother always used.
