The Great Crested Grebes that I posted a picture of three weeks ago http://365project.org/julienne1/365/2017-04-04 have now improved their precarious nest and are incubating a clutch of 4 or maybe 5 eggs. This morning I watched as they continued to bring new nesting material and took it in turns to sit on the eggs - they seemed to swap over ever 30 minutes or so giving their mate a chance to hunt for fish. Elsewhere on Ham Wall RSPB reserve one grebe chick has already hatched and swimming around in hot pursuit of its parents
@rickster549@flowerfairyann I'll certainly keep an eye on the nest. The incubation time is 27-29 days but I'm not sure exactly when they started sitting!
