Sea defences at Palling

These man-made barrier reefs off the coast at Sea Palling in Norfolk were erected in 1995 by the Environment Agency. They are part of an ongoing project to defend the coastline in an effort to prevent the sea breaching the sand dunes as it did in the great storm of 31 January 1953 which took the lives of 7 Palling villagers and causing widespread devastation.
