Burton Pynsent Monument

This 1768 Portland stone tower sits on Troy Hill in Curry Rivel, Somerset, overlooking the Somerset Levels. It was designed by Capability Brown, architect for William Pitt, as a monument to Sir William Pynsent who had left him his whole estate when he died.
I like how it seems to rise out of the trees.
