Jelly Ear fungus - Auricularia auricula-judae

Sometimes known as Jew's ear. Apparently this is because it usually grows on elder and Judas Iscariot was said to have hung himself on an elder tree. It is apparently eaten widely in some parts of the world and used in chinese medicine for slowing tumors, controlling blood sugar levels, preventing blood clots, and lowering cholesterol.
