This pigeon has chosen a bastion tower in the Bishop's Palace at Wells to build its nest. You can just see two eggs behind the pigeon. This bastion in the walls beside the moat was apparently renovated in 1800 to create an oratory for prayer and reflection. Later in the 19th century it was used as a potato store!
I've been watching a couple of pigeons today but haven't spotted where their nest is yet. This one has chosen an unusual place but I guess it's not going to get blown away or rained on.
