This was on the Somerset Levels today where Grey Herons and Little Egrets gathered to enjoy the easy pickings of little fish scooped up by a digger dredging one of the rhynes. In all I counted 32 egrets and 23 herons! I did wonder how the message had been spread so quickly between birds that are usually solitary and don't socialise at all!
