This pair of swans were introduced to their new home on the Bishops Palace moat at Wells a couple of days ago. They came from Swan Rescue South Wales and have been brought to Wells to replace the previous pair, Bryn and Wynn. It has been a long tradition that the Wells swans will ring a bell to be fed and this new pair will be taught to do that once they settle in. Today they looked happy and relaxed, and well on their way to making this lovely spot their permanent home. A year ago I posted a picture of the previous female swan, Wynn, with her cygnets which she reared alone after her mate Bryn died https://365project.org/julienne1/365/2018-05-25 . Wynn flew away late last year with her cygnets leaving the Palace Moat with no swans so it's lovely to see the new pair settling in.
