Mother Shipton by julienne1

Mother Shipton

This is a day flying moth which was darting around amidst the blue butterflies this morning. It's name comes from Old Mother Shipton, a 16th century Yorkshire witch .... the brown markings on the upper wing look a bit like a witch's face!
Never seen one of those.......native only to Yorkshire ???

Who knew that Mother Shipton had a moth named after her. I am sure that wasn't one of her prophecies.

A lovely picture. Never heard of Mother Shipton. Learnt that she was an English soothsayer and prophetess.
