There are steadily increasing numbers of Lapwings returning to the Somerset Levels for the winter. Sadly, there are nowhere near the numbers I used to see a few years ago, but there are still good numbers and seeing them certainly lifts the spirit! To be fair, lockdown doesn't really affect me much living in such a lovely place. However it's my daughter's 25th birthday today and lockdown well and truly messed up all her fun plans for socialising and partying!
