Hamiltons Gap.. by julzmaioro

Hamiltons Gap..

Here is another shot of the archway that has now succumbed to the sea and the weather .. We had a late afternoon walk on the beach.. The sunset was not much but the reflections on the black sand beach were very worthwhile..
Whoops something went wrong and I did not get the link of my previous photo of this archway... check out the other image on the 2 nd Nov 14..

Nice image and thanks for a great evening stroll along this lovely part of the coastline.

The best! Reflections in wet sand or more than wet sand - very shallow water on the sand are superb! Plus the colours in the bluffs! fav

The reflections are great and I also like the landslip scar showing up the red rock/soil underneath. Nature makes destroys and remakes

I checked out the other photo, what a shame the arch has gone. But then that's nature

What a beautiful coastline. It is sad when something like this dissapears. Many of the coastal features have fallen down here too in the last 20 years (the 12 Apostles included, well some of them at least).

Really good composition and reflections.

Lovely shot, but how sad that the bridge has gone. It is the same with the London Bridge along the Great Ocean Road in Victoria, Australia. David saw a photo of it when he was about 3 years old in an encyclopaedia and always wanted to see it, but after we came to Australia and before we could visit, it fell down.

Great shot - which beach is it?

Great shot.

@onewing this one is no where as big as the London Bridge one and it was just sandstone so it was inevitable that it was going to crumble..

@alinz It is further up the coast from Kariotahi.. sign posted West Coast Road.. past Pollock...

Wow this is really pretty. I love the reflections and that the beach separates the real hill from the reflection giving it nice balance. The colors are so pretty. Big FAV

The sea is nibbling at the land and now and again it takes a big bite. The colours and comp are gorgeous, Julia.
