Maori Carvings..

Today while in town I went to one of my 'Go To' spots to see if I could get a shot.. I was surprised to find that some fantastic carvings had been installed.. In fact the workmen were still working on them .. there are 3 carvings similar to this one and then several panel carvings on concrete walls.. They are looking out over the area..
They were carved by Master Carver Ted Ngataki.

I expect that each one of them has a story! This one looks new but will weather well!

@julzmaioro @dide @kali66 -- Two weeks ago I was in Auckland for a week but without a car. On September 25, I arrive into Auckland airport and I will go to Waitangi for a few days. Other than that, we haven't made our plans until we leave about 10 days later. On a previous trip, we went to Rotorua area. My photos from that trip are tagged "JY-NZ" Would LOVE to meet up with you!
